Within this framework efforts have been devoted to reach several theories in order to explain the practice of translation. The main issues regarding the history of acceptability of translation may be listed as equivalence faithfulness the role of culture in translation process ideological considerations translatability systems' approaches the role of the translator and the new developments of audiovisual translation.
According to Holmes's map translation studies have been divided into two main branches as 'Pure' and 'Applied'. Pure Translation Studies is also divided into two subcategories as theoretical and descriptive studies. Under descriptive studies product-oriented process-oriented and function-oriented studies might be listed.
