Creation is a subject that is discussed in the axis of different dimensions from the beginning to the end of the Qur'ān occupies a voluminous place in the divine text and attracts quite a lot of attention. According to the Qur'ān's own words Allāh is the Creator of all living things human beings plants animals the sky the earth the stars the mountains the sun the moon the night the day life death the universe jinns angels in short everything. He is the Only God with infinite knowledge and power who creates shapes harmonizes regulates and directs everything with a certain measure by doing. The words describing the creation have taken a place in more than three hundred verses of the Qur'ān in various meanings and contexts. In our research we will try to examine the root of "N-SH-A" which is one of these words and roots within the framework of the creation process of the human being. Since the relationship of the root in question with other concepts related to creation would exceed the limits of this work we will cover this subject in another study. Since we will use the semantic analysis method in our study the historical development of the root is our main focus. In this respect the pre-Qur'ān period which includes the poems reflecting the Jāhiliyya (the pre-Islāmic) period the Qur'ānic period that conveys the advent of the verses and the post-Qur'ān period which includes later understandings and interpretations have covered our research process. Thus it is the main aim of our study to determine the meaning changes such as narrowing including phonetics fronting of a vowel expansion and semantic shift of the root.
