This album displays the photographs of Egypt which were taken after the art of photography first emerged in the 19th century. The original photographs are located at IRCICA photograph archives. They show several architectural monuments which are located in important cities of Egypt and which were built in various periods. Among these monuments one can cite mosques tombs graveyards sebils (public fountains) palaces squares houses castles and city-walls streets pyramids as well as views of different cities. This album describes the historical and artistic characteristics of 140 architectural works. At the end of the book one can see a list of the photographers who took these photographs and a glossary of terms that appear in the album.
