A pioneering Austrian exponent of contemporary art jewelry Helfried Kodré learned goldsmithing in the 1960s while studying art history. In the mid-70s Kodré abandoned goldsmithing then re-emerged in the early 1990s as a jewelry artist eschewing his earlier bent for natural symbolism and organic allusions in favor of geometric articulation the play of volumes and their relationships in a rhythm of expansion opening and overlapping. In German and English with 167 color photos and drawings this book looks at Kodré's newer period describing jewelry pieces and freestanding sculpture.
