The economic relationship between Turkey and the African states is conducted by means of trade treaties. A considerable number of bilateral agreements and protocols were signed between the two entities laying the necessary legal foundation on which beneficial economic relations could be built and promoted.

Turkey and African countries have signed cultural agreements as well. As a result a great number of African students have been studying at various Turkish universities either under a cultural exchange program or as privately sponsored students. The trade between Turkey and African countries include: clothing food engine and automobile spare parts and pharmaceuticals. In return Turkey imports sesame seeds petroleum raw and semi-processed leather and rubber from African countries.
