Pınar  AKARÇAY   is  an  academician  in  Trakya  University  with  PhD  degree  in  Political  Science  and  Public 
Administration from İstanbul University who works at present as the Visiting Researcher (Post-doctorate) at the Institute 
for Housing and Urban Researches at Upssala University in Sweden. Dr. Akarçay had h er Bachelor's and MA Degrees 
in  Public  Administration  from  Trakya  University  at  Edirne.  She  had  previously  held  research  activities  in  Lund 
University of Sweden. Her research interests range from political participation democracy theories of democracy to 
gender politics civil society human rights as well as Turkish and international politics in these contexts. She has many 
essays articles and books published on these research areas. She has also participated various national and international 
symposiums congresses and panels. 
Gökhan  AK  is an academician  with PhD degree in Political Science  from  Ankara  Hacettepe University  who 
works at present as the Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Nişantaşı University in 
İstanbul.  Dr.  Ak  had  a  Bachelor's  Degree  in  Operations  Research/Management  (İstanbul)  and  MA  Degree  in 
International  Politics  (Brussels  ULB  University).  He  had  previously  held  research  activities  at  Universit y  Libre  de 
Bruxelles and British National Archives. His research interests range from political participation democracy theories of 
democracy to gender politics civil society human rights as well as Turkish and international politics in these contexts. 
He has many essays articles and books published on these research areas. He has also participated too many national 
and international symposiums congresses and panels.
