The goal of superiority is a secret goal. The existence of a social feeling prevents its frank development. it must grow in secret and hide itself behind a friendly mask! We must reaffirm however that it would not grow with such tropic luxuriance if we humans understood one another betler. lf we could go so far that each of us developed betler eyes and could more transparently view the character of his neighbor then we should not only be able to protect ourselves betler but simultaneously make it so difficult for another to express his striving for power that it would not pay him to do so. Under such circumstances the veiled striving for power would disappear. it pays us therefore to look into these relationships more closely and make use of the experimental evidence which we have won.
