Children's literature has taken tremendous attention for the last few decades. That is apparently resulted from the fact that children have been put in the centre of society for whose development their education has been of utmost importance. Therefore it may be suggested that the level of value attached to children is an indication showing the development level of a society. In Turkey hundreds of children's books carrying universally accepted values have been written translated and published in order to be presented to preschool children who will hopefully build a brighter future while ensuring the development and continuity of the society. In this book while exploring a few examples of translated children's books to be used as an educational tool for preschool children it has been observed that the relevant books inevitably serve to create the child image desired by the society and are used as a means to make children comprehend social/cultural norms and universal values.
