The fact that elementary school teachers teach many different school subje- cts is one of the important characteristics that distinguish them from subject teachers. This aspect of elementary school teaching has been a research topic that has attracted the attention of educational researchers. This resear- ch topic has also attracted my interest and curiosity as a graduate of an ele- mentary school teacher education program and as an academic who previ- ously worked as an elementary school teacher. This book is the result of rese- arch conducted with such interest and curiosity.
This book presents a study on the willingness to teach and the perception of teaching difficulty among pre-service elementary school teachers in relation to four school subjects: mathematics science social studies and Turkish. I hope that it will be especially useful for researchers in the field of elementary school teacher education and for any individuals with an interest in this field.
